Shorea Residence Website
UX Design Responsive Website | Google Certificate Design Project | 2024

Summary
My Roles :
This is an individual project that allowed me to plan and direct each step of the user-centered design process to design a responsive website. This is just a project to practice and familiar with responsive website with design principles being considered.
Reponsibilities :
Define the problem and provide insights to inform the ideation phase
Define personas and user flows
Visual design of low-fi and high-fi wireframes, prototypes, and user testing
Problem Statement
In an increasingly competitive real estate market, there is a pressing need for Shorea Residence to establish an effective online presence through a responsive marketing website. Current marketing efforts are hindered by the lack of an optimized digital platform, resulting in missed opportunities to showcase the property's unique features, attract potential buyers or tenants, and drive engagement and conversions. Furthermore, with a growing number of users accessing the internet through mobile devices, the absence of a responsive website limits accessibility and diminishes user experience across different screen sizes and devices.
Solution
Addressing these challenges requires the development of a user-centric, visually compelling, and technically robust website that effectively communicates Shorea Residence's value proposition, captivates target audiences, and facilitates seamless interaction and conversion pathways across all devices.
Research
User-centered Design Process
The reason I used user-centered design process is due to this project is mainly more user or client focused. Furthermore, it also offer several benefit such as:
Enhanced User Experience:
By prioritizing the needs, preferences, and behaviors of users throughout the design process, UCD ensures that the final product meets their expectations and delivers a satisfying experience. Only the essential information required to display on this project.
Flexibility and Adaptability:
UCD emphasizes iterative design and continuous improvement based on user feedback, allowing products to evolve and adapt to changing user needs and market conditions over time. This will greatly benefit the future feature of monitoring property progress and milestone with pictures and reports.
Research Questions
How do potential buyers or tenants navigate and interact with real estate websites on various devices (e.g., desktop, mobile, tablet), and what are their preferences and expectations regarding responsiveness and usability?
Research Method
Interview
6 Participants of all ages.
Ask a set of interview questions, observe and record behaviors and attitudes.
Personas

Key insights
Throughout the research, I discovered some key takeaways for creating a responsive website for Shorea Residence.
Device Usage Patterns:
Understanding how users access real estate websites across different devices (desktops, mobile phones, tablets) can reveal which devices are most commonly used for property searches and how usage patterns vary based on factors like location, demographics, and property type.
Concept Design
Design and Prototype
Based on the research findings, I create initial concepts and prototypes that address user needs and goals. Design solutions are iterated and refined through feedback from users and stakeholders to ensure they meet usability and functionality requirements. Furthermore, low-fidelity prototypes are developed to test and validate design ideas before investing in full-scale development. Prototypes may include wireframes, mockups, or interactive prototypes that simulate the user experience and allow for quick iteration and refinement.

User Expectations:
Researching user preferences and expectations regarding responsive design can provide insights into the features, functionality, and layout that users find most important and engaging when browsing real estate listings and property information on various devices.
Mobile Mockup
user testing and iteration
Prototypes are tested with users to gather feedback on usability, functionality, and overall user experience. User testing involve tasks, scenarios, or usability tests to identify issues and validate design decisions. Based on user feedback and testing results, designs are refined and iterated to address identified issues and improve usability. This iterative process continues until the design meets user needs and expectations effectively.
Based on the one of the Feedback and Design Principles
User seems to navigate through the page with ease. However, there is a reduced emphasis on directing user attention towards contacting the company's agent on the main page. The stakeholder would like to emphasis this issues. Thus, a buttons with color contrast to draw attention of the user will put it on the main page.
